La Isla
La Isla / Tryptich / Woodcut / 50 x 70 cm / 2024
This work approaches territory as a sensory organism in evolution. This woodcut project explores the metaphor of the island as a space of memory, geopolitics, and resistance. Through the repetition of an invariable insular landscape that nonetheless evolves, it questions permanence within transformation. Structured as a triptych, the work reveals three stages in the island’s life and presents it as a heterotopia: a place outside of time, a mirror of the human condition. Combining post-photography, appropriation, and new medias, the project creates visual pastiches that blend reality and fiction. This fictional photojournalism questions the authenticity of historical narratives and our perception of representations of the past.
